Well hello there, thanks for stopping by! I'm Emily... the mom of two beautiful girls and the wife of one gorgeous husband who is in the U.S. Coast Guard. I love to cook, bake, party plan and volunteer at my girls school.

A few tidbits about myself... I'm a sucker for old black and white movies and I love immersing myself in a good book, especially a Jane Austen novel. Before getting married I could really only scramble an egg and bake a cake from a box. So, only a month after our wedding I decided to tackle a turkey for Thanksgiving... naturally. Surprisingly, with little to no cooking experience, our Thanksgiving feast turned out wonderful. I'll always remember that sense of accomplishment. Making something that others enjoyed... and that I enjoyed making. After numerous calls to my mom and mother-in-law asking them for cooking advice, I became more and more comfortable in the kitchen. Through these conversations I've collected many family recipes, both on my side and my husband's side of the family. I've also come to enjoy developing my own recipes.
